If I request an advising intervention via early alert, how does advising handle that?

Early alerts for students are sent via email to each student’s primary advisor on a daily basis whenever an alert is submitted.  Please note that the student’s primary advisor is in most cases based on the student’s major.  The early alert is not sent to the advisor in the department in which the course is housed.  If an advising intervention is requested, the advisor will attempt to contact the student first via phone and then via email.  The advisor will discuss with the student possible solutions to the current academic difficulty.  The advisor will then send an email to the instructor summarizing the conversation with the student.  When you receive the early alert confirmation, it will include the name of the student's advisor. This is provided in case you want to follow up with the advisor directly with more information or for an update about the student.
