Do I have to take an exam after I complete this program to practice as a sterile processing technician?

Yes, if you wish to become credentialed and practice as a sterile processing technician, completers must take and pass a national certification examination administered by the Certification Board of Sterile Processing and Distribution (cbspd.net). The exam is scheduled and taken outside of the Owens Campus. To maintain this credential registrants must submit 100 hours of continuing education to the CBSPD every 5 years.
