Is an objective necessary on a résumé?

Objectives are no longer recommended on a résumé. They are usually too general, so save the space on your résumé to include pertinent information that will help you get an interview. Instead, you can include a Professional Summary on your résumé, which will be 1-2 sentences summarizing your qualifications for the position.
