What facts are considered when making the decision to close campuses?

While campus closures are generally the result of poor weather conditions, other factors can also impact a decision to close.  Regardless of the issue, the College will make the decision to close based upon a careful analysis of all relevant facts, including but not limited to:

  • Weather forecasts;
  • Timing of expected weather, and if conditions are expected to worsen or improve;
  • Information on road conditions from College and local officials, including county snow emergency levels;
  • Amount of accumulated snow and ice and the College’s ability to safely and timely clear parking lots and sidewalks.
