Where should I save my files?

Save your files to your network storage drive (the O: drive) Unlike desktop and laptop hard drives, the network storage drives are backed up nightly and can be restored.

The O: drive has both a folder for your personal use to store college-related files on the network and departmental network storage used to store college-related files on the network.

Files stored in your My Documents folder, desktop or libraries folders on your hard drive (C:) are not backed up and cannot be restored if deleted or hardware failure occurs.

It is strongly recommended that all college-related files are stored on a network drive. To request access to a departmental network drive, use the Network Drive Access Request form and request access for yourself and/or others.  You must be or have the Data Owner's permission before requesting access to a departmental network drive.
