When to Approve MFA Prompts?
MFA, Multi-Factor Authentication, prompts should only be expected and approved when you are logging into a service. If you are receiving unexpected push notifications from the Microsoft Authenticator application or via Phone Call methods, you have the option to deny and block further attempts by following prompts given. Blocking MFA attempts will alert the ITS Help Desk to investigate further. If you receive unexpected 6-digit SMS MFA codes, do not give the codes to anyone and report the unexpected prompts to the ITS Help Desk. Change your password as soon as possible.
